We made a paper chain to count down the days to his birthday and to his birthday party. He was so excited about it and has been looking forward to it for awhile! Wednesday morning he woke up and opened his door to see streamers hanging in his doorway and a Happy Birthday banner in the kitchen! He liked the Birthday banner. But he's an orderly kind of guy, so the streamers drove him crazy when they would get caught in his door. He was constantly trying to straighten them and after a day or so he told me he didn't like them and he tore them all down. :-)
He started his morning with Birthday Cream of Wheat. Which translates to normal Cream of Wheat with colored sprinkles. Carl went to work like usual, but after breakfast we went and picked him up and brought him to the Children's Museum for the morning! Tyler laughed with excitement most of the way there and kept asking if we were there yet. We all had so much fun. It was a great way to spend a birthday and we were thankful that Carl was able to leave work and come with us!
Tyler got to choose his Birthday dinner - hot dogs, sweet potatoes and birthday pineapple. And for dessert we had Raspberry Sweet Rolls! Then he got to open one gift before he went to bed - coincidentally, it was a bedtime book. :-)
It was such a fun way to celebrate our little boy and share a fun day with him!
