Girls Weekend!

A good friend of mine from college is moving to Georgia so I got to spend the weekend hanging out with some girls from college before she leaves. It was so much fun! It's been a long time since I've seen a lot of those girls, but we had a great time together and I'm so glad I got to see them. Somehow I didn't get a group picture of everyone, but here are a couple of the ones I did get.

My bowling team :-) Carloyn is pretty awesome at bowling and I was bowling granny style, so as not to tip over or hurt myself. So our goal was for the other three of us to beat Carolyn with our combined score. We did it!

Bowling Ball Baby!

This is just to prove that I'm actually better at granny style bowling than bowling the normal way. I never break 100 and I was only 1 point away granny style!

Carl told me he was going to work on a house project while I was gone, but he wouldn't tell me what it was. Carl's great at house projects, so I wasn't really nervous, but it's a little scary to know something crazy could be happening to it while I'm gone! It was a great surprise to come home and see the ceiling fan he installed in our bedroom! We have just had lamps in there and it's so dim it drives me crazy! Now it's light, bright and beautiful!

Carl's Masterpiece. He's awesome.

Wow

When I was driving home from work on Friday I was thinking about just how close we are to having a baby at our house and actually being parents! It's so exciting, and I can't wait, but I'm amazed at how quickly my pregnancy has gone and how little there is left of it.

- The baby is officially at the point where if I went into labor early he would be just fine, with no long term affects of premature birth. (huge sigh of relief)
-The baby is due in 6 weeks!
- I only have 4 more weeks of work (and only 3 Mondays!) before I leave St. David's to stay home with the baby.
- We only have 5 weekends left where we can do whatever we want as just a couple. And really, we only have 3 because the next 2 are pretty busy. And also, only 3 more Saturdays to sleep in for at least the next 18 years...
- Only 44 days(ish) until I actually get to see and hold my baby! (That thought makes me smile really big and get a little giddy)

I have been thinking lately, with all that goes on with having a baby growing inside of you, that I don't know how anyone can be pregnant and experience that and not believe in God. How is there any other explanation for such an incredible miracle?

Also, cute side note about the soon-to-be Daddy: Carl was at Home Depot the other day and he came home and said that he saw all these dads with their sons in their carts shopping for tools and things and how he can't wait to be bringing his little boy out to Home Depot like that. It made me think for the millionth time about what a great dad he's going to be and how I can't wait to see him with the little guy. :-)
