Time Flies When You're Having Fun, And We're Having a Blast!

My baby is half a year old! How in the world did that happen?! Fastest six months of my life. And what a great six months they've been.

One Day

Six Months

I'm lucky to have gotten that picture of Tyler on his half birthday. About two seconds later Mr. Mover was definitely not posing quite so nicely.

At his six month appointment today, Tyler was a little champ. I thought he might not have to get his shots because he's been sick for the last week, but apparently since he's on the tail end of his cold and she checked him out without finding any infections, he was still good to go. Yippee. Tyler has never responded well to his shots. He's gotten fevers everytime and been completely miserable the rest of the day. But today, while he did cry for each shot, he didn't even want his pacifier when he was done. He cuddled with me for a couple of minutes and then was back to his normal, happy self. Whew!

Tyler is now 15 lbs. 6 oz. and 26 1/2 inches long. He sits up without any help, rolls over like a wild man and is trying so hard to crawl. He can get himself places with lots of grunting and work, but you can't quite call it crawling yet. But let me tell you, crawling or not, he will get that toy he wants out of pure determination, wiggling and flinging himself with all his might.

Tyler loves to sit by his basket of toys and empty it. He dfinitely has favorites and he searches his basket until he finds them. He loves to sing songs and is starting to enjoy looking at books more, although, like any baby, he never lets me finish a page without turning it for me.

He now sleeps on his tummy, whether I like it or not.  He flips himself over the second we lay him down. Sometimes he's already trying to flip himself before he's layed down, almost causing us to drop him! In the bath tub he also flips over the second we lay him down. Talk about needing to watch him like a hawk! He is definitely not afraid of water. He loves to lay on his tummy in the tub, kicking his feet, playing with toys and sucking on washcloths. He doesn't even care if he accidentally gets his face in the water. He's going to have mad swimming skills.

Tyler, we love you so much! You have showed me just how few hours of sleep a person really needs. :-) But you have also filled our days with laughter and smiles. All you have to do is look at us to make us smile. We love your hugs, your silly faces, your sweet smile and precious giggles. We love your loving cuddles, your sweet, non-stop, always on the go, can't sit still for a second, curious and fearless personality, your stubborn determination and your fantastic comedic timing. You keep us busy, but we love every single minute of it. Life got a whole lot sweeter when you came into it! Thank you for being such a blessing to us. We thank God for you every single day and still can't believe how lucky we are to be your parents.
