The Rest of June

This year we ran our 2nd Stop the Trafficking 5K. When I say run I'm using that term very loosely. :-) We ran when the kids had bursts of energy to do it and we walked when they needed a break in the stroller.  But it was a hot day and they did great!!

We had come back from Kansas with the house pretty much ready to list. But the day before we were planning to take pictures and get it listed, a really big storm came through. We were actually on our way to church when we saw the crazy wall cloud we would have been driving straight into. So we decided to turn around. Right as we pulled into our driveway the hail started and the power went out so we couldn't open our garage door. So we had to wait out the storm in the car with wind and hail all around us and very scared kids. We're pretty sure that our backyard neighbor's tree fell right as we pulled in too (the cause of the three day loss of power!). Lucky for him (and unlucky for us), it fell over the fence and power lines into our yard. So the multiple crews that came out to work on cutting trees off the lines and fixing the power, came into our yard. One even came after 10pm one night with their loud noise and spotlights. Thankfully our kids can sleep through anything and it didn't even phase them!

The kids thought it was all pretty exciting. :-)

Carl used the whole thing as an excuse to buy a chainsaw. Shocker. :-)

We also had VBS in June! These three had so much fun. It was Tyler's first year in the "real" VBS. Carsten and Aria get to go because I volunteer. But they love it just as much. They were literally counting how many days they have to wait until next year.

This was the first year that we went to the drama Friday night. It was so great! And ice cream at the end just made it better.

I don't know.

But she's funny!

Dress up is my favorite. It's always cute, and it always makes me smile.
