Camping Trip A

We didn't get to go camping last year, and it was such a bummer! I think it might be the only summer I haven't camped in my entire life, or at least since I was like four. So it was very exciting to finally go again! We had two trips right in a row. So I was a little nervous about how the kids would do. I knew they wouldn't sleep well. I worried they would be exhausted and emotional, but they did great on both trips!

On July 10th we headed to Wisconsin Dells for a weekend with a bunch of college friends. It was so FUN! We saw a lot of people we haven't seen in a long time. We had never met a lot of the kids there and it was so great to catch up with everyone. I think that we counted that there were 26 kids and 28 adults. A few only came to the beach on Saturday, but almost everyone camped!

Enjoying a picnic on the beach!

The boys pretty much had fun with every single thing they did.

Tyler was so proud to use his strong muscles to carry camp chairs to the fire.

Aria had to spend a lot of time like this - in her pack and play with a blanket over it...

Or in her carseat with a screen out to keep those bugs away!!
But she did not mind at all. She was an amazing little camper! She just went with it and it was great.

Tyler made a great new friend in Hannah. He keeps saying, "Mommy, what's my new friend's name?"

We even got to spend time singing worship songs by the fire.

Paul kept the kids' attention with some super fun games!

And Steve told them stories by the campfire.

The boys LOVED their s'mores!

Can you tell? :-)

This weekend was so much fun. I kind of forgot just how much I love camping until we drove into that campsite. It was a gorgeous weekend with beautiful weather and lots of fun memories. We decided to not even worry about bedtimes because they would be too excited to fall asleep at the normal time anyway. So they even took great naps and slept until their normal times. Perfect. :-)
